Selling Your Home:
All of Your Questions, Answered.
I know from personal experience how stressful it can be to sell a home in NYC. Over the last 15 years, I went from first time homebuyer, to investor, to multi property seller. You may come across a few surprises during your home sale but if you prepare and ask the right questions upfront, you will be off to a great start towards a successful sale of your property. We are here to give you certainty throughout the entire transaction process, guiding you through the many decisions, questions, and concerns you have during your sale.
1. What is the value of my home?
2. What is the best pricing strategy for my listing?
3. How long will it take for my listing to sell?
4. How will agent reach my buyers?
RENTED FIRST APARTMENT
When we first arrived in NYC in 1999 from Germany, we had no US credit history and most landlords were hesitant to sign a lease. We were lucky renting a top floor apartment in a Park Slope Brownstone from a landlord whose parents were originally from Germany – it is all about connecting.
BOUGHT FIRST APARTMENT
We started to form roots in Park Slope, so we decided to buy a parlor floor co-op on the same block where we were renting. It was a “for sale by owner” and anything that could possibly have gone wrong went wrong in this transaction but it was home sweet home in the end.
BOUGHT TWO INVESTMENT PROPERTIES
We saved up the next down payments and bought two investment properties. When I had my eyes on yet another property, my husband “wanted his Sundays back” and it was time to turn my passion into my profession: I joined Douglas Elliman where I ranked number two by transaction.
SOLD IT ALL AND BOUGHT OUR TOWNHOUSE
On a sunny Tuesday morning in 2013, we closed the sale of our apartment and raced down 7th Ave in Park Slope to close on our townhouse right after – post possession was the key to successfully closing two properties on the same day.
