DUMBO, which stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge, has become a technology innovation hub in Brooklyn by creating supportive workspaces to attract high potential startup companies. DUMBO is not all about work. There is plenty to do for your personal enjoyment in the neighborhood. Brooklyn Bridge Park has been in development since 2008 and now includes amenities such as green space, jogging paths, soccer fields, beach volleyball courts, basketball courts, and a beautiful carousel. Many of these features are found on the redeveloped industrial piers that used to line the waterfront stretching from Dumbo all the way to Brooklyn Heights. Additionally, the park provides some of the best views of Downtown Manhattan.

Grabbing a bite to eat around DUMBO is easy. Many restaurants and markets in the area create a great sense of community and culture. The most famous dining option is Grimaldi’s, the legendary pizza restaurant near the Fulton Ferry Landing. Finish your meal with homemade goodies from the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory. Check out the benefits of living in the amazing community under the iconic bridges that line the East River.

Tips From The Locals

Best pizza…Grimaldi’s is worth the wait but if the line is too long and your little ones (or grown ups in your party) are starving give the pizza place right next to Grimaldi’s a try and you will find that Juliana’s is serving up great pies.

I am always happy to discuss what is going on in the neighborhood: What is your favorite spot/activity in your neighborhood? Where to find the best pizza? How to spend the perfect day in your area?
